E-Bike Damage & Loss Fees

At BiRide, we keep damage and loss fees clear so every rider knows what to expect before renting an e-bike.

Normal wear and tear is not charged. Fees apply only when a bike, battery, key, accessory or component is damaged, lost, stolen, returned in poor condition or requires additional repair, cleaning or recovery caused by the renter.

E-Bike Replacement & Major Damage

Full E-Bike Lost, stolen or total loss.

Typical fee: €1,600 – €3,000 depending on model*

Frame & Fork Major damage, cracks, bends or structural damage.

Typical fee: €300 – €800*

Front / Rear Wheel Severe bend, broken spokes or wheel damage.

Typical fee: €150 each*

Tires Cuts, slashes or excessive damage beyond normal use.

Typical fee: €50 each*

Handlebars / Stem Bent, cracked or broken parts.

Typical fee: €100*

Brakes — Front or Rear Damaged lever, caliper, hose or hydraulic bleeding required.

Pedals Broken pedal or stripped thread.

Typical fee: €50 each*

Crankset Damaged or broken crankset.

Typical fee: €150*

Chain / Drivetrain Snapped chain, damaged cassette, bent derailleur or severe drivetrain damage.

Typical fee: €90 – €150*

Mudguards Broken mudguard or strut realignment.

Typical fee: from €40*

Rack System Damaged, bent or removed rack.

Kickstand Broken or missing kickstand.

Battery Pack Damaged, lost or missing battery.

Battery Charger Lost or damaged charger, if provided.

Battery/Smart Key Lost or damaged battery key.

Display / Controller Cracked, damaged or missing display/controller.

External Lock & Keys Lost, damaged or missing lock/keys.

Helmet Lost or damaged helmet, if included.

Cleaning, Labor & Rescue Call-Outs

Heavy Cleaning Heavy dirt or dried mud requiring manual washing.

Typical fee: €30*

Extreme Cleaning Thick mud on motor, drivetrain, wheels or frame requiring detailed cleaning.

Typical fee: from €70*

General Service Labor Custom repairs, diagnostics or work outside standard part replacement.

Typical fee: €40 / hour*

Emergency Rescue & Call-Out — Paphos District Rider-caused issue during business hours, such as flat tire, drained battery or avoidable recovery.

Typical fee: minimum €60*

Out-of-Hours / Out-of-District Call-Out Nights, Sundays, public holidays or long-distance recovery.

Typical fee: minimum €60 + 50% surcharge or individual pricing*

Terms & Notes

All prices are per item and cover either repair or replacement at BiRide’s discretion.

Fees reflect typical repair or replacement costs. Final charges may vary if damage is severe, parts are unavailable, specialist repair is required or additional labor hours are needed.

Normal wear and tear from responsible use is not charged.

Lost, stolen or total-loss e-bikes are charged at full replacement cost, typically €1,600 – €3,000, depending on the model.

The renter remains responsible for the bike, battery, keys and included accessories during the rental period until the e-bike is safely returned to BiRide.
