Just 15 minutes from Paphos, the air changes. The sea breeze fades, the temperature drops, and the hills open into quiet vineyards and cool stone villages. This is Tsada, perched 600 metres above sea level, and nearby Minthis Hills, where old Cyprus and modern calm meet in one effortless e-bike route.

If you’re looking for a ride that blends charm, views, and a touch of luxury, this route is a must. With your BiRide e-bike, it’s not just a climb, it’s an easy glide through some of Paphos’ most beautiful countryside.

Tsada Village – Tradition with a Cool Edge

Only 8 km north of Paphos, Tsada (Τσάδα) feels worlds away from the coast. The air here is fresher, the pace slower, and life moves in tune with the land. Locals still tend their vineyards by hand, chatting outside the cafés that dot the narrow lanes.

What to See in Tsada

  • Stavros Church – A simple whitewashed church with sweeping views over the valley.
  • Village cafés –  Enjoy a strong Cypriot coffee or fresh lemonade under a vine-covered terrace.
  • Local walks – Wander past stone houses and small gardens bursting with pomegranates and figs.

Tsada’s climate is a real gift for cyclists. It’s often 5-6°C cooler than the coast, making it one of the best summer rides near Paphos. The surrounding hills are known for their vineyards and grain fields, part of the Ezousa Valley region that links Tsada with Kallepia, Letymbou, and Kathikas, all great future rides with BiRide.

(You can also check our ride guide for Kathikas Village or Paphos Old Town to plan your next loop.)

Minthis Hills: Modern Calm in the Mountains

A short uphill stretch from Tsada brings you to Minthis Golf & Wellness Resort, built around a restored 12th-century monastery. The setting is serene, open skies, olive trees, and architecture that blends beautifully with the landscape.

What to Do at Minthis

  • Relax at the spa or wine bar – Ideal for a post-ride pause.
  • Lunch on the terrace – Fresh Mediterranean dishes with valley views.
  • Explore the monastery grounds – Agios Stavros tis Minthis, carefully restored and open to visitors.
  • Enjoy the art and gardens – The sculpture walk and calm courtyards make it easy to linger.

Minthis is open to everyone, not just golfers, and makes a perfect midpoint for an e-bike outing. It’s also a good stop before looping back through Letymbou Village or continuing towards Stroumpi for more open countryside.

(For a more spiritual detour, look out for our upcoming guide to Agios Neophytos Monastery & Tala Village.)
